Silent Lab is the name given to the audiovisual installation for the Czech pavilion at the EXPO 2015 World exhibition in Milan. Silent Lab is a multidimensional project that presents a live forest set in a futuristic laboratory, where today’s modern technology enables visitors to peep into the cellular level of a forest habitat. In addition to live plants and futuristic flowerpots, the installation includes interactive cameras, projection screens, microphones, automated irrigation systems and air conditioning.
The project is prepared by Full Capacity in close cooperation with the ČVUT (Czech Technical University), the ateliers Marián Karel and Vladimír Soukenka and with Institut intermédií. The main authors of the project are Jan Tůma and David Sivý. The R/FRM cooperates on the project implementation from an architectural standpoint. The Silent Lab is currently our largest and most important project.
